A dramatic situation in Ukraine

UEFA is seriously considering a move to execute plan B (lowering the number of matches in Ukraine and raising the number in Poland) or plan C (entrusting the organisation of the European Championship in 2012 to cities in Poland only) on account of dramatic delays relating to the organisation of the Championship by our neighbours to the east. Although UEFA has no reservations as regards Poland, where preparations are proceeding on schedule, circumstances are far worse in Ukraine, the city most at threat being Lviv. The entire situation should become clear by 21 September, when the UEFA steering committee meets.
