Sting to play at the opening of the stadium in Poznań

Poznań will be the first Polish city to complete the redevelopment of its stadium for Euro 2012, the opening set for 20 September 2010. The culmination of the event organised for the occasion will be a concert given by Sting alongside the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra as conducted by Steven Mercurio. The concert in Poznań is one of 78 forming Sting's Symphonicity world tour, with the artist presenting orchestral arrangements of his greatest hits. The appearance by Sting will be a trial for the stadium, which is to be a venue for cultural events as well as sporting fixtures.
